One contest closes the doors, and the next opens... no sooner have we finished gathering the flash fiction entries, and we have the first people banging on the door to be let in to our InkTears annual, international, short story contest. All the usual rules apply: 1000-3500 words, any theme, and so on. Remember that we are one of the few contests that are happy to see stories that have won or been placed elsewhere (as long as you still own the copyright - we want to share the winners with our readers).

Anyway, feel free to enter early. It helps a lot! Plus, it tests out the system and makes sure we don't have any gremlins. Every year somebody contacts me to say that they have received a confirmation email telling them the results will be published nine months ago, or something equally crazy. There are a lot of moving parts, so its good to see the first handful of entries arrive safely. Good writing, and good luck!
