A Walk in the Park was my Examiner Marked Assessment for a Creative Writing course at the Open University, the final piece of assessed writing on which my final grade depended. It started life as a horror, but as the protagonist revealed himself to me, it became apparent that what I had planned for him was just not something he would do, and so the story took a different trajectory. I’m very grateful for this, because his version of events earned a me distinction, and gave me the confidence to start the MA in Creative Writing that I’m currently completing… and now this opportunity to be published at InkTears. Thanks Brian. I really owe you one.
